Club nights are held every Friday evening during the swim season, with swimming starting at 6:30pm and concluding approximately 8.30 pm. Swimmers only need to be able to swim 15 metres to join in and are encouraged to start participating as soon as they feel comfortable. It is a fun family night with a well-run canteen and a raffle drawn during the evening. Interclub carnivals are held during the season. The swim season ends with club championships where swimmers compete for trophies. Progression to Longer Distance15m to 25m All Strokes - On Referees advice. 25m to 50m
When a swimmer reaches the cut-off time for 25m, the swimmer must progress to the 50m event unless instructed by the Chief Referee. Experience has shown that swimmers are easily able to progress to the longer distances and their points tally will benefit due to the greater time improvements possible from the swimming the greater distance. If a swimmer is not qualified to swim 50m events, they are not eligible to swim in the 100m event. PointsPoints gained for each swim will depend upon the comparison between time swum and previous best time. The best time a swimmer swam last season will be the time against which this season's time will be initially compared. If he/she did not record a time in an event last season, he/she will have to swim a time trial. One point is award for a time trial whether successful or unsuccessful. No points for a disqualification.
